Viking Freedom Residential Response Pendent (VK470) Fire Sprinkler Head

This Viking Freedom Residential Pendent Fire Sprinkler features a glass bulb activating at 155F (68C) with a 3.0 K-Factor, and 1/2 in. NPT threads. Each pendent head features a brass frame and bronze deflector. The Sprinkler Identification Number (SIN) is VK470. This is a fast response, standard coverage, residential sprinkler with a maximum working water pressure of 175 PSI.

The VK470 pendent sprinkler delivers effective, affordable defense against fire in residential home sprinkler systems. Using a heat-activated glass bulb assembly, this automatic fire sprinkler opens when ambient temperatures reach 155F (68C), drenching the area surrounding a fire to keep it in its place of origin. The VK470 is intended for use with recessed or surface mounted escutcheons, in a variety of residential sprinkler system applications. When installed properly, this VK470 fire sprinkler head maintains listings and approvals from cULus (Category VKKW) and meets New York City requirements. Refer to the datasheet for listings and approvals in specific temperatures and/or applications.

When using Viking Residential Pendent Sprinkler VK470 for systems designed to NFPA 13D or NFPA 13R, apply the listed areas of coverage and minimum water supply requirements shown in the Approval Chart on page 3 of the datasheet. This pendent sprinkler head has a maximum working pressure of 175 PSI (12.1 BAR) and connects to wet piping systems.

Viking Freedom (VK470) Pendent Residential Sprinkler Installation and Other Information

During installation be aware that over tightening will cause permanent damage to the 1/2 in. NPT threads and/or the fire sprinklers themselves. Use the manufacturer approved installation wrench and tighten to a maximum torque of 14 ft-lb (19 N-m). Refer to the data sheet for additional installation and storage information.

This residential pendent sprinkler features a Brass finish and a 155F (68C) temperature. Available finish options include Brass, Chrome, White, and Black. White Polyester Finish (White), and Black Polyester Finish (Black) are UL Listed as corrosion resistant. Temperature options include 155F (68C) and 175F (79C). The VK470 listed accessories include the approved Viking Standard Wrench (part no. 21475M/B), Viking Recessed Socket Wrench (part no. 13655W/B), and the approved Viking E-1, E-2, or E-3 recessed sprinkler head Escutcheon(s).
